Have you backed up the actual photos which LR does not touch to somewhere else?Ģ. Do you have any other program that can open and view the actual photos? If so and it can view them without issue then that limits the problem to within LR so an earlier working version can be used and the missing photos can be imported to it.Ģ. Of course if the damaged files you've uncovered were taken afterwards then this might be an S.O.L. If this turns out to be the case you hopefully can go back in time to an earlier dated backup that LR makes to find one that works. This would indicate the backup process only duplicated the existing problem, which probably indicates the cloud backup is also damaged but at this point it's worth a shot trying to use it. Trying to decipher after the fact is always difficult but it sound like both catalogues, on the main ext drive and the other ext drive for backup are corrupted. #7 Are you saying you double clicked on the catalog from #1 and started using it as your main catalog? Have you run first aid on this drive? #5 Regarding the main external drive with catalogue showing errors according to Apple: Have you run first aid (disk utility app) on this drive? #1 The other external drive with backup catalog is the drive LR uses for the catalogue, correct? Typically in batches based on import date.
Those types have differed at differing times. Randomly groups of files, typically just a certain type of raw at a time, started either saying they were damaged in Lightroom (with exclamation mark) or showing up as jpeg that I posted. Moved to new external drive from the back up hard driveĨ.
Also at this time all raw files started showing as Topaz based files for first time everħ. Said it could be backed up but not written toĦ. I wonder if they just got corrupted on import?ĭo you have access to any other computer, PC or Mac? If so then copy the files from your computer (not the camera) onto a thumbdrive and transfer them to see how they look on a different machine.Īre you on Windows? If so either upgrade or reinstall your video driver if trashing preferences doesn't do anything. Also, they are all showing this way in file explorer as well.
